Bio

Frenzal Rhomb met in 1994 and became overnight sensations in Australia in just one day! When they weren’t at school, the band would amuse themselves by touring the world with some of the greatest punk bands ever, including Bad Religion, NOFX, Pennywise, and Offspring. Frenzal Rhomb are notorious amongst young kids with spots as one of the world’s best, fastest, and funniest live bands.

Now Frenzal Rhomb have a new album, called Sans Souci (which means ‘No Worries’ in French) it’s the best, fastest, and funniest CD ever. Featuring songs such as ‘Russell Crowe’s Band (is a fucking pile of Shit)’, ‘Bucket Bong’, ‘Stand Up and be Cunted’ (with George Negus on vocals!) and ‘Ballchef’, a song about the national dish of the USA: cooked balls!

Keeping the mean age of the group below 25 is the new bass player Tom Crease, who is the extremely young and good looking son of the legendary Kevin Crease, Adelaide’s Channel 9 newsreader and voice of middle Australia. Kevin made his name in showbiz back in 1969 when he suddenly became the first ever on-air personality to say ‘fuck’ on Australian television. No wonder his favorite son is a drug addicted member of Frenzal Rhomb!

In USA, Europe, Japan, the Middle East, and at home in Australia and New Zealand the aggressive, hilarious live shows staged by Frenzal Rhomb have won the band many friends and loyal fans. They have appeared twice on the US Vans Warped Tour, caused a riot at Australia’s enormous Big Day Out festival, toured Europe and USA with both NOFX and Blink 182 and caused an electrical fire in Belgium at last year’s Pukkelpop festival, where they played alongside Jane’s Addiction and the Doobie Brothers.

No Australian punk band has broken so many frontiers. They are famous for performing songs in local dialects and can learn a new language within days of arriving in a foreign land. Just approach them and ask them to explain why they are the punkest band in the world in your local tongue!

In 2003 Frenzal Rhomb are confirmed to tour Taiwan, South Africa, UK, Japan and Israel, with plans to visit the likes of Russia, Malaysia and South America later in the year. Add this to their already impressive following in the USA, Canada, the rest of Europe, and in the South Pacific, and you would be hard pressed to find a single corner of the globe that has been left unstained by this revolting group of musical individuals.

Frenzal Rhomb CDs are released in all territories outside of Australia and New Zealand on Fat Mike’s label, Fat Wreck Chords. The Australian group are honored to work for a man of such considerable girth. The band has achieved gold status in Australia with their albums Not So Tough Now (1996) and Meet the Family (1998). Their album A Man’s Not a Camel (1999) has gone platinum in Australia.

Less Than Jake have written a song about them called ‘Frenzal Rhomb Set My Bus on Fire’. This happened at the Warped Festival in USA in 2001 and will be remembered long after the intolerable ska punk strains of Less Than Jake have finally been put to rest. Frenzal Rhomb have also set other band’s buses on fire, including those of Fenix TX, the Wu Tang Clan, Nickelback and the Little River Band. The name Frenzal Rhomb is an Australian word, meaning ‘more than one penis’.
