NOFX have updated their website and mapped out their upcoming plans for 2007. They also posted some cool photos of them eating dinner and buying swords from their recent trip to South America in the Bore Journal. The band had this to say…
Nearly dozens of you have written to ask us our plans, when are we coming to your town? etc. Here are our basic plans for 2007. In January we will play a bunch of shows in California, keep on the look out for dates soon.
Then in mid February we will finally make the leap back down under, New Zealand, Australia and finally Tasmania. Sorry it has taken so long. In April we go to Japan and we hope to go to China, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysian, maybe some other places in Asia. We are open to ideas, if you have any, write the Bore Journal and make the subject “Asia or Bust”.
After this we will take a few months off. Why? It’s a secret, try to guess. In the late summer we will be in Europe for sure. Then in the fall we will go to Central America and the Caribbean, as well as try to make up for the shows that failed in South America this fall.
Smoke or Fire just got out of the studio where they were recording the follow up to their debut record Above the City. The new album is called This Sinking Ship and it will be out early next year. The band is headed out on a 12 date tour which will route them to the Fest in Gainesville and then up to our CMJ showcase in Brooklyn on Nov. 1st. Along the way they will be filming a video in Minneapolis and playing a free in-store in Chicago on Oct. 22nd at Reckless Records. Go see them live and give them a front row review of their show kind of like how Jeremy did on the Fat Tour last year.
Also, the new Me First and the Gimme Gimmes record came out on Tuesday so feel free to order it here. You will be able to start ordering the Leftover Crack/Citizen Fish split 7" next Wednesday, Oct. 25th.
Wrangler butts drive us nuts!!! Check out what you get (while supplies last) when you pre-order the new Me First and the Gimme Gimmes record Love Their Country from our webstore before it comes out on October 17th. We went ahead and put a delicious wild berry wine cooler in it for your viewing pleasure because this is actually what you would drink 3/4’s of and then hurl in your Chevy side-step. It’s wet AND it’s dry. I think you’d better tell all your cowboy friends you drank 14 Buds instead of what your Aunt drinks to “unwind” up at the lake so they won’t brand you behind the barn. This thing will keep your hands warm and your tasty beverage cold while you are tippin’ cows at midnight. Listen to Ghost Riders In The Sky and enjoy your new coozie.
So I pretty much blew it in Mrs. Mills Spanish class so I don’t know what is entirely happening but here is another note from NOFX about some of their cancelled shows…
I guess the show in Peru got cancelled too.
Fat Mike sent us a report from their tour in South America. Diarrhea, joints and missed flights…sounds like a blast.
Hello, Fat Mike reporting in from Buenos Aires. So far this tour has been awesome aside from a few missed flights and food poisoning. The good news is we will be playing the next few shows in Lima, Santiago de Chile, and Guayaquil. The bad news is the shows in Colombia and Venezuela are cancelled because the original organizers lied to us repeatedly (the promoters Cheo in Caracas and Sergio in Medellin are not to blame). In fact the club Santiago booked us in Bogotá had no idea that any show existed. We apologize to all the kids who bought tickets in those countries. Hopefully you all can get your money back. For sure, we are not getting our $25,000 back that we spent on plane tickets. Had the promoters in those two countries actually bought us the tickets they said they had bought, we wouldn’t be having these problems. Anyway, I’m not gonna go into all the details of how we’re getting screwed. All I know is that every other show in South America has been super cool and we’re having a great fucking time. Thanks to all the kids who are showing up and throwing joints at us. See ya around, Fat Mike.
